Diver Rescue

DIVER RESCUE
Cost :- £80
OBJECTIVES
Three part course, split into theory, open water and deep lifts practical.
Course content covers:
- Dive Planning
- Accident Avoidence and Incident Management
- Practical Underwater and Surface Rescues
- Risk Assessment
ENTRY CRITERIA
Current SAA Membership
Current Medical or self certificate.
Experienced SAA Club Diver (or equivalent)
Minimum age 18 years (Depth Restriction applies below this age in a dive leading role)
Authorisation of Club Diving Officer
QUALIFICATION AWARDED
Qualification book and wall certificates
Successful candidates may move forward to train for Dive Supervisor and Regional Instructor as Diver Rescue is a mandatory qualification for both of these courses.
This course is in two parts - the theory first and the practical follows on a different weekend.
Nitrox Diver

NITROX DIVER
Cost :- £55
OBJECTIVES
This one-day Nitrox Diver course provides the diver with the knowledge to safely use Oxygen Enriched Air (Nitrox) for dives in the range down to 40 meters with reduced decompression obligation.
ENTRY CRITERIA
Current SAA membership.
SAA Open Water Diver Qualification
Minimum age 16.
QUALIFICATION AWARDED
Nitrox Certification
Open Water Instructor

OPEN WATER INSTRUCTOR
Cost :- £50
OBJECTIVES
A 1 day regionally organised course introducing the candidates to the techniques and safety requirements of open water lessons and assessments.

SAA Membership
Current Medical Certificate
Dive Leader Qualification
Diver Rescue Award
Club Instructor Qualification (with teaching experience)
QUALIFICATION AWARDED
Qualification book and wall certificates
Successful candidates may take trainees for open water training dives and amy also become Skills Instructors.
Oxygen Administration

OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION
Cost :- £35
OBJECTIVES
The SAA Oxygen Administration Course is intended to introduce the student to the use of oxygen as a First Aid procedure for diving related illness, and to produce a high standard in the administration of CPR to a diving casualty.
The course culminates with both practical and theoretical tests to ensure that the required standard has been achieved.
ENTRY CRITERIA
Current SAA membership
Open Water Diver qualification
Under certain circumstances member's who do not hold the Open Water Diver qualification
but have experience in First Aid (i.e., Doctor, Nurse, Ambulance Personnel, First Aider or non
diving club member) may be allowed to attend the course, subject to the approval of the
Oxygen Administration Co-ordinator and/or the NDO.
QUALIFICATION AWARDED
SAA Oxygen Administration Qualification Record Book Certificate and wall Certificate
