OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION

OBJECTIVES
The SAA Oxygen Administration Course is intended to introduce the student to the use of oxygen as a First Aid procedure for diving related illness, and to produce a high standard in the administration of CPR to a diving casualty.
A ONE DAY COURSE PROVIDING
- A review of diving related illness
- An introduction to oxygen administration equipment, its assembly and use
- The theory and benefits of the use of oxygen in the First Aid and treatment of diving related illness
The course culminates with both practical and theoretical tests to ensure that the required standard has been achieved.
ENTRY CRITERIA
Current SAA membership
Open Water Diver qualification
Under certain circumstances member's who do not hold the Open Water Diver qualification
but have experience in First Aid (i.e., Doctor, Nurse, Ambulance Personnel, First Aider or non
diving club member) may be allowed to attend the course, subject to the approval of the
Oxygen Administration Co-ordinator and/or the NDO.

SAA Oxygen Administration Qualification Record Book Certificate and wall Certificate
